I've been enjoying this quiet time away from socia I've been enjoying this quiet time away from social media and back to just focusing on my newsletter and podcast so I have more time to reflect on what feels true and deeply aligned for me in my business.

It's so easy to be swayed by what others are doing online and I've been no exception.

I've spoken about my limitations for years as a mom with two young children (one on the spectrum) and how my time and energetic capacity to create content, launch courses, teach workshops, market my offerings and deliver my best work to clients is not as wide as some.

It's taken a pandemic and an ASD diagnosis with my oldest child to grant me the permission to pivot my business towards what works best for me.

When my business is misaligned, in essence, I'm out of alignment with myself.

Things don't flow as effortlessly as they could. I feel angst and deep dissatisfaction, and thankfully, I can't move forward until I delve deep into what my inner self and business are truly needing of me.

Stronger boundaries. Consistent, yet simple habits. Spaciousness and flexibility to be the mom I want to be and also the best version of me for my clients.

I'm on a beautiful, self-healing journey with my business to realign what I've built thus far into something nourishing and aligned that feels soulfully aligned and spacious.

I'm going back to the traditional coaching roots I've been trained in - to be your guide if you feel called to join me on this journey of pivoting towards a more fulfilling and sustainable business that nourishes you spiritually, emotionally, physically and financially, too.

We get to decide what a thriving successful business looks and feels like. What does that look like for you? 🤍

I often get copywriting clients and students who s I often get copywriting clients and students who struggle to write in their natural voice in their web copy or social media captions.

It's pretty common to clam up or encounter blocks when you sit at your desk to write because you haven't been taught how to write in a conversational tone.

Your authentic voice is the voice you use when you're in the zone and feeling most comfortable talking about your work.

It could be with a client you have a good relationship with or someone who finds your work interesting and you feel at ease talking about the transformation you help your most ideal clients make.

You're not trying to sound professional or smart. You don't need to be witty or clever. Just an honest expression of sharing ideas about something that's deeply close to your heart.

As a coach, authenticity can't be taught.

It's something that comes through in your content the more you share and the more you put yourself out there in your work. It's not the answer people want to hear but experimentation has been my most reliable method for improving anything.

It's definitely a process of unlearning what you've been taught in school or when you worked in a corporate career where the emphasis is on professionalism and etiquette. In your content and copywriting, you can relax knowing that your people would prefer candid you, not the buttoned-up version.

The best thing you can do to create deep resonance with the right people is to BE YOURSELF and to keep sharing until you gradually get to a place where you judge yourself less for doing so. Trust me, you judge yourself far more than anyone else.

The rest of us are rooting you on.

Pausing might just be the best strategy for your b Pausing might just be the best strategy for your business right now.

I know that's unconventional advice, but there's a lot of guilt and shame associated with taking breaks that might be perceived as being a flake or lacking consistency.

I also know that some of you are parents with young kids. Some with additional needs like me. Or you're caring for ageing parents or have a FT job and your business is your side gig.

Success is accepting the season of life you’re in and moving at a pace that's sustainable for YOU.

After Friday's post, I decided to open up about this a little more in today's podcast, if this resonates, take a listen.

I’ve always known that my bright, beautiful, cur I’ve always known that my bright, beautiful, curious and artistic girl was different, but I couldn't put a finger on what it was.

I spent countless hours researching disorders trying to understand her and some of her behaviours.

↠ Sensory Processing Disorder
↠ ADHD
↠ Giftedness
↠ Anxiety Disorder
↠ Bipolar Disorder
↠ Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder + more.

But not once, Autism.

Getting an autism diagnosis wasn’t easy.

I remember breaking down on the call with her specialist and feeling my heart rip straight from my chest. Every hope and dream I had for my child right along with it.

It took me about a month to process her diagnosis and I didn’t talk about it because I didn’t have the strength.

I cried every day during that period. I grieved hard and remember feeling scared.

Then, the fog lifted and I could become the parent she needed me to be.

While each day brings many challenges and I fail miserably most days, I know that I’m the perfect Mama for my girl (we have near-identical personalities which proves that God has a sense of humour 🙂 #prayforme

What I’ve realized is that previous to her diagnosis, I knew little to nothing about autism. And what I did know, most of it myths.

ASD now affects 1 in 68 children. Boys are nearly 5 times more likely than girls to be diagnosed with ASD.

Here are a few subtle signs in girls/women on #worldautismawarenessday because they’re often overlooked or misdiagnosed:

↠ finding it hard to understand what others are thinking/feeling
↠ seeming blunt, rude/not interested without meaning to
↠ taking things very literally – for ex "break a leg"
↠ having the same routine every day and getting very anxious if it changes
↠ appear naive/immature— out of sync with social norms.
↠ show different sides of her personality in different settings
↠ releasing bottled up emotions at home through meltdowns
↠ feeling misunderstood and alienated
↠ has a low frustration level and finds it hard to manage feelings when frustrated

Autism isn’t something to be feared or seen as defective.

Listen and pay attention to the autistic person in your life, they have so many beautiful gifts to share.

Hey, I’m still here.🤍 I’ve just been taking Hey, I’m still here.🤍 I’ve just been taking some time away to catch my breath.

When life gets a little crazy and you can’t keep up or you find yourself working at a pace that isn’t sustainable, go easy on yourself and be kind.

It’s OKAY to care for yourself first. No one benefits if you don’t. You can only serve others when you’re giving from a full cup. I continue to learn this the hard way.

Taking the past few months away from social media has given me space to focus on mindful reflection. I’ve reignited a love of my journal. Thank you @susannahconway and Journal Your Life 🙏🏼

Who knew stickers would be the vehicle to connecting to my higher self? 😉 More on that later…

If something feels unclear to you in your life or business, take a few things off your plate. Overwhelm has a sneaky way of disguising itself as procrastination as a means of protection. Don’t be fooled!

Giving yourself the permission to pause might just be the BEST strategy for your business rn. 🤍

If you grew up in a household where kids were to b If you grew up in a household where kids were to be "seen, not heard", then you may not use your voice out of fear you'll be criticized or have nothing worthwhile to say.

Your authentic voice is one of your most valuable assets as a solopreneur.

It sets you apart and builds deep resonance with your people. The more you use it, the easier it becomes to express your voice authentically in your content.

In Ep. 30 of the Business By Intuition Podcast, I share the following tips to help you find and use your authentic voice as a solopreneur:

✔️ Why expressing your authentic voice builds deeper resonance with your audience (and repels the wrong ones).

✔️ What stops most people from speaking in their authentic voice.

✔️ The four things that make up your brand voice.

✔️ Practical tips for finding (and using) your authentic voice as a solopreneur (even if you hate writing).

These books are a couple of my fave gifts from the These books are a couple of my fave gifts from the holidays #itsthelittlethingsinlife. Simple girl getting in touch with my inner child, what can I say? 🙂

I've known of The One-minute Gratitude Journal for a while. I was intrigued but never compelled to buy it. It seemed too simple - like I can just write a few gratitude statements in any of the 40 journals I already own, so why not do that? It's not something I would've purchased on my own.

Since it was a lovely gift from my husband I thought I'd give it a try. What I actually love is that it is SO simple. There are a few lines on every page so I'm never overwhelmed trying to think of how to fill an entirely blank page.

I love that I can write a simple gratitudes for the day and end on a happy, thankful note.

This made me think about how often I overcomplicate things in life. Or feel the need to *fill* the page. Write more. Be profound.

How often does trying to be profound stop you from sharing your message? Communicate with your audience?

Inspired by the one-minute practice, I decided to apply that strategy to social media, and guess what? It resulted in this post. *noteworthy ‘cause it’s been 8 weeks” 😲

When I knew that I only had to write for one minute, it alleviated the pressure to be perfect or profound.

Of course, there's nothing transformational or life-changing about this post, but if you're still reading, then perhaps it'll inspire you to pause and reflect—

What's one area of your business you tend to over-complicate? How can you apply the "one-minute" practice to help you minimise the overwhelm?

Happy 2022 btw!
I'm still easing my way into the new year 🙂 🤍🤍
