A couple of weeks ago I interviewed @shailajav for A couple of weeks ago I interviewed @shailajav for the podcast to ask her this question, can your business survive without social media? It airs Sunday and she’s my first guest which is so exciting. But of course, when you get two Human Design Projectors and Aries Sun Signs on a mic, the conversation can go in any direction 😂 Besides being a social media and SEO expert, she’s a content queen with over 1800 pieces of content on Instagram alone. She has a super engaged audience without using hashtags or worrying about the best times of day to post. When I asked her what she’d tell someone who’s just getting started and they don’t have much content or they’re stuck in perfectionism and can’t get their words on paper — what’s her best tip for growing an audience? Ya know what she said? “Let go of all your inhibitions and your expectations of what your audience thinks you should create. And just start creating. Just start writing because when you do that, you’ll find your true voice and your audience will find it as well.” It has nothing to do with a strategy. Hashtags. Commenting on people’s posts. The best way is to just start sharing, exploring and getting your message out there. If you want to grow an authentic audience, you’ve got to give them something to connect with. How often do you put yourself out there and publis How often do you put yourself out there and publish something like an e-course or a live video on social media and you look back and say, "oh, I wish I said this" or "why did I say that?" This happens every time I publish a piece of content, from writing a blog to posting a video. From teaching a live class to publishing a new episode for the podcast. I'll look back on anything I create and think about how I could've done it better. I've been chatting with a lot of clients lately who fall into the perfectionism trap of thinking their work needs to be perfectly polished or professional to get people to take them seriously (or avoid online criticism). But guess what, f$*king up is inevitable. There are so many talented people out there. Entrepreneurs, healers, coaches, therapists, counsellors, marketers, and artists with great gifts. Yet, we don't know about them or how they can transform our lives because they're too stuck in a perpetual state of perfectionism, worried that the world is going to criticize them or reject them. What we really want is to see the real you. The people who do criticize and reject you are not your people anyway. So don't give them any more of your time or energy. Blessings, K.

Most people don’t realize that 80% of copywritin Most people don’t realize that 80% of copywriting isn’t actually writing. Hopefully, this comes as a relief to you if you struggle to know what to say or how to say it and can’t find the “right” words that connect with your people. There’s one thing you must do before you ever write a word of sales copy and that’s - conduct good client research. Most of my copywriting process is spent on researching my clients so I understand their struggles, frustrations, needs and wants. Most people rush the process and try to write from their own head which is why they find the sales page process so difficult & daunting. If you resonate with this, and you’re stuck trying to write a sales page that connects with the right people, get on the phone with 3-5 people who’d be the best fit for your course/program/offer and ask them what their problems/desires are as it relates to your service.
