Embracing a Slower, More Intentional Life and Business in 2024
It’s been quite a while since I’ve shared anything here—over six months to be exact. During this time, I’ve been on a significant break from my business, which allowed me to reflect deeply on my life, my creative journey, and the kind of business I truly want to build. As some of you may know, I’m an unschooling mom of two wonderful kids, and our days are often filled with discovery, learning, and connection. This time away has given me the clarity I needed to reshape my life and work in a more intentional and mindful way.
I'm thrilled to share with you the latest chapter of this journey: a new video on my YouTube channel that marks a fresh focus for my content and business. After months of stepping away from social media, client work, and the pressures of fast-paced online marketing, I’ve emerged with a clearer vision for what I want to create and share with you.
You can hear more about this journey in the video above :)
A FEW REFLECTIONS ON WHAT I’VE BEEN LEARNING:
01. The Unconventional Path to Authenticity
For those of you who've followed my journey on Instagram or subscribe to my newsletter, you know that I'm an unschooling mom of two. I’ve always gravitated towards unconventional methods, challenging norms to align with my true self—whether in my personal life or curating content for my business.
The relentless hustle was leading to burnout and social media was consuming my time and influencing my creative voice, so I consciously decided to walk away and take a break. By doing so, I’ve rekindled the connection with my creative spirit, and can clearly see a path that allows me to go at a pace that feels authentic and sustainable for me.
02. Creating From a Place of Joy and Connection
One of the most important lessons I’ve learned is that content creation—when it’s done with mindfulness and purpose—feels deeply fulfilling. It’s not just about producing something for the sake of it; it’s about creating from a place of joy, connection, and authenticity. Whether it’s a blog post, a YouTube video, or a new Canva design tutorial, I’m now more focused on offering meaningful content that resonates with both myself and my audience.
I also discuss how the world of fast-paced, short-form content often leaves me feeling burnt out and overstimulated. Instead, I’m embracing long-form content, both as a creator and as a consumer. I love diving deep into resonant emails, Substack articles, and YouTube channels that provide real value and inspiration. This slower, more thoughtful way of creating and consuming content feels like the right path for me, and I hope it resonates with you too
03. The Gift of Pause: Reclaiming True Connection
Taking a significant break was one of the most profound gifts I could give to myself and my business. If you find yourself disconnected from your work, overwhelmed by marketing, or lost amidst the noise, consider this an invitation to pause. You don't need to take a six-month hiatus but find gentle ways to lighten your load and create space to reflect and listen to what resonates with you and your soul’s calling.
What You Can Expect Going Forward
So, what can you expect from me moving forward? There will be more content creation—including videos that focus on creativity, mindful business practices, and living a slower, more intentional life. I’m also excited to share more teaching opportunities in the future, from Canva tutorials to courses that help fellow creatives build their businesses in an authentic, sustainable way.
I’m intentionally moving away from the "done-for-you" services I’ve offered in the past, like creating Canva templates for clients, to focus on what truly lights me up: teaching, inspiring, and creating. This shift has allowed me to reconnect with my passions and share them with all of you.
Thank you for being here and for your continued support. I’m excited to see where this journey takes us, and I hope my story inspires you to find your own path to authenticity, creativity, and a life that feels aligned with your deepest values.
With warmth and creativity, K.
